Ghost Pool
A great competitions water...
Like Hay and Barley Pools, Ghost Pool is another Woodland View competition water and is again stocked with carp up to 20lb, small tench, skimmer bream, perch and roach. Slightly larger than Hay or Barley at an acre in size, it holds 25 pegs and is often fished by anglers using either the waggler or feeder out in the centre on maggots, caster, sweetcorn, meat or Wooodland pellets.
Although there are large numbers of fish in the 1lb to 2lb range, winning match catches average about 70lbs whilst the good head of silver fish mean the pool fishes well in both summer and winter.
Impressive weights caught...
Ghost Pool is reserved for competitions and therefore is not available to pleasure anglers.
Again, like Hay and Barley, competitions on this water have been regularly won with weights in excess of 100lbs and during one competition in 2008 every angler averaged 90lbs per man.
