News from Woodland View
Anglers who book their 2009 club matches before July 31 this year will receive a saving on their fees as pegs will be charged at 2008 prices. For the past three years Woodland View have held their Match Peg fees at £6.50 each and although it has not yet been decided what the 2009 prices will be, it is fairly certain they will have to increase next year. However, the fishery has decided that fees for any 2009 club matches booked before the end of July this year will be charged at current prices. |
| Current and Forthcoming Matches Carl lights up Woodland View match record Redditch sparkie Carl Hopps has smashed the Woodland View match record with a 242lb 4oz haul from Back Deans - only weeks after local angler Terry Robson predicted the fishery record would fall in 2007 (see story below). Drawing Peg 64 in the five-hour Monday Open on July 2, Carl pole fished in the margins at eight metres alternating between Woodland Wonder competition pellets and sweetcorn to take the all carp haul which beat the previous five-hour record of 230lbs.
But that wasn't all. The top four back-up weights in the match all came in at over 200lbs making the match one to remember.
After the weigh-in Terry said: "The fishery record, which currently stands at 230lbs, will definitely go this year."
